Crypto Dogs Rarity Index

CryptoDogs is a collection of 999+1 pixel-art NFTs dedicated to dogs. Each CryptoDogs is different from each others.

CryptoDogs aren’t automatically generated but are all hand-drawn. There are not simply a list of characters and items mixed and assigned randomly across the various pieces, each CryptoDogs is a unique pixel-art work minted single edition on the Ethereum blockchain. The items and the backgrounds, when presents, are all different from each other.

For this reason the CryptoDogs Rarity Index must take into account features related to the complexity of each piece.

Features targeted are: Frames, Items, Background and Colors.

The rarity index will then be determined by a score, that each CryptoDog will receive, resulting from the sum of the score achieved among all the features.

CryptoDog can get from 1 to 5 points for each feature based on the following criteria:

Frames: 1 (1pt) up to 4 (2pt) up to 9 (3pt) up to 13 (4pt) over 14 frames (5pt)

Item: 0 (1pt) 1–2 (2pt) 3 (3pt) 1 animated item (4pt) 2+ animated item (5pt)

Background: 1 color (1pt) 1 gradient color (2pt) 2 or more colors (3pt) animated background up to 3 colors (4 points) animated background with more than 3 colors (5 points)

Colors: up to 4 (1pt) up to 8 (2pt) up to 12 (3pt) up to 15 (4pt) more than 15 (5pt)

with colors only the colors of the crypto dog+items are noted. Colors used for the background aren’t counted.

animated item means an object that makes a movement, if it is an item that moves because of dogs movement (like astro-dogs items) it isn’t considered a movement. Reflections of light aren’t considered animations either. To be considered an animation it must make a movement of its own.

collar and medallion (if present) are counted as one item

The rarity index is therefore not only an index of uniqueness but also indicates the complexity of each CryptoDogs.

Notes

All backgrounds with basic and gradient colors will be used at least 2 time except the color used for the #0 [GENESIS] which will not be used anymore.

There are 630 CryptoDogs males and 370 females.

Extra dogs in the piece are considered like Items

Black and white are included in the colors count.

There’s a 2-points bonus for all NFTs in which an error will occur. It’ s possible that there’s an error in the description, or in the title (like for the first five CryptoDogs where the text has the D in lower case). As for any other collectible, the minting error is an added value. This added value is evaluated in our Rarity Index with 2 bonus points. If it will be enough to access the next class of rarity obviously depends on the total score just achieved. The minting error alone is not worth the class upgrade.

All dogs up to #020 will get 2 more points because they will be minted out of the collection and they will not have in their description the own rarity index tab which will be present from #020 on. The rarity indexes related to the first 20 CryptoDogs will be minted on the Ethereum blockchain in one NFT and will be valid as certificate of official collection listing and certifying the rarity indexes as well. The gender of the first twenty CryptoDogs will be indicated here. This NFTs (with this doc as locked content) will be minted before March, 3.

In the ranking of the rarest dogs, the points collected in the various areas are calculated in this order: Frames, Items, Background and Colors. CryptoDogs females are rarer than males. If the score is the same even after this step, and the gender is the same, the lowest number minted gain the better place.

Rarity Classes
